Surah Al-Takathur is the sixteenth Surah to be revealed, and is worthy of reflection due to its educational teachings and serious warnings about the punishment of the hereafter. In this study, the interpretive views of Allamah Tabataba'i and Ibn Ashur have been compared and it has been concluded that there is no disagreement on the general principle of warnings and the certainty of the occurrence of punishment. What is at issue is the issue of the visibility or non-visibility of the fire of hell in the ecstasy before death, the Barzakh, and the Day of Judgment. Allamah Tabataba'i, influenced by his mystical and philosophical vision and perhaps influenced by philosophers such as Mulla Sadra, proves the religion of hell in this world and with the eye of insight. Ibn Ashur, adhering to his Maliki and Mash'ari sects, who even consider the visibility of God possible on the Day of Judgment, considers the visibility of hell to be related to the ecstasy after death. Another difference of opinion is regarding visiting graves, which Allamah Tabataba'i refers to as a reference to the moment of death, and Ibn Ashur considers the possibility of this issue and the occurrence of the counting of graves by two Arab tribes of that time to be possible.
A comparative study of the two interpretations of Al-Mizan and Al-Tahrir shows that both commentators have presented almost the same point of view and the differences of opinion in some cases are related to the principles of interpretation of these two great commentators of the Islamic world, which have been addressed throughout the research.
