Abstract
Al-Tebiyan fi Tafsir al-Quran by Sheikh Tusi is the most important and influential interpretation of Quran in the fifth century AH. The political-religious conditions of the fourth and fifth centuries AH, the writing of books and interpretations of Quran with a theological tone, the intertwining of theological sects, as well as the confrontation and debates of various theological groups such as Muatazilites and Ashaarites alongside the Imami Shiites in Baghdad, are among the important reasons that have made Sheikh Tusi's theological tone and tendency in the commentary on Al-Tebiyan colorful. Sheikh Tusi has played a very important role in explaining religious teachings and dispelling doubts of various sects, including Muatazilites by mentioning the opinions and theories of other sects with respect and without prejudice in his commentary. Sheikh Tusi, following many verses, with phrases such as “in the verse, there is a sign of the invalidity of the opinion of Jabriyyeh” and “in the verse, there is a sign of the corruption of the opinion of Jabriyyeh”, has criticized the beliefs of the Jabris such as not granting blessings to the infidels, not guiding the infidels, attributing and citing blasphemy, injustice and abominations to God, the obligation of what is unbearable, etc., by relying on and utilizing various interpretive sources such as verses of the Quran and reason, and has declared them invalid and corrupt. In the present article, in addition to reporting all the theological verses regarding the beliefs of Jabriyyeh by presenting six categories of these verses, the beliefs of Jabriyyeh are criticized on six topics in specific verses.
