Abstract
The approaches to "reflection on the Quran" have grown significantly in the contemporary century, and numerous Sunni and Imamiyyah Quranic scholars have devoted themselves to writing works on reflection. However, explaining what "contemplation" is and analyzing its semantic components, and consequently correlating it with interpretation, faces serious challenges and has led to different, even contradictory, views. Since "contemplation" is an original Quranic concept, the Quran itself is considered as one of the best sources for understanding the truth of reflection In this article, the four verses of "reflection in the Quran" are analyzed using the comparative interpretation method, and finally, with an emphasis on data research on the opinions of Sunni and Imamiyyah commentators, six semantic components of reflection in the Quran are emphasized: Accordingly, "contemplation" as a desirable universal encounter with the Quran is an intellectual operation that is organized by a dynamic hesitation on the initial understanding of the verses and the motivation to seek guidance. Also, the dynamism and gradual effort in understanding the verses, the combination of horizontal and vertical understanding, the understanding that is adaptable to the details of life, and the direction of contemplation are among the components of the concept of "contemplation in the Quran" that the present article has reached.
